The eighty properties in the cathedral ownership which ‘circle’ the church are referred to as being in “The Cathedral Close”.
They comprise a wide range of residential and commercial buildings which are mainly of Grade 1, 2 or 2* significance. The age of the properties vary some dating back to medieval times, for example the Vicars’ Court properties were built in the late 13th century, and many architectural features survive.
You can find out more about them and how you might live in one on the Properties to Let page.Support Our Cathedral
