Exhibition of Embroidery: Cathedral Inspirations

The Lincolnshire Branch of the Guild will be holding an exhibition of textile art, embroidery and mixed media in the Chapter House of Lincoln Cathedral from 26th June to 4th July 2012. Monday –Saturday 10.00 am – 4.00 pm and Sunday 1.00 pm – 3.00 pm. The Embroiderers’ Guild was founded in 1906 and has 25,000 members and over 200 branches.  It is the UK’s leading crafts association and educational charity and aims to promote and encourage the art of embroidery and related crafts. Much of the work will be inspired by and based on Lincoln Cathedral, plus a wide range of other work demonstrating the many and varied skills of the members, including hand embroidery applique, free machining and mixed media. There will be individual as well as group displays and some of the work will be for sale.  Details of the Guild and our branch will also be available.
