Lunchtime Concert – piano and violin
Visitors to Lincoln Cathedral are invited to attend a lunchtime concert in the Chapter House. This concert will be performed by Lee Cheong on the piano and Christopher Jones on the violin.

Biography
Lee Cheong – Lee was born in Sydney and attended the Conservatorium High School, studying piano with Elizabeth Powell. She has performed in many public masterclasses including those given by Steven Osbourne, John Perry, Lisa Moore and Piers Lane. Lee acquired her BMus in Performance with Honours at the Sydney Conservatorium, studying with Stephanie McCallum and was awarded two merit scholarships from the Conservatorium in both 2007 and 2008.
Last year Lee was a recipient of the Tait Memorial Award and was invited to perform Stravinsky’s Serenade en La in John Amis’ presentation on the composer. She also received the Australian Bicentennial Award in the same year. Lee has recently graduated from the RNCM with Masters, under the tutelage of Stephen Savage. Since coming to Manchester, Lee has performed in several concerts including the RNCM Lunchtime Series, RNCM Chopin Festival, RNCM American Festival, St Ann’s Church and Chorlton Arts Festival and she was also a finalist in the RNCM Duo Prize. Several months ago she participated in the Salzburg International Summer Academy studying with Arnulf von Arnim and performing at the Mozarteum. Lee is currently working at Chetham’s School of Music.
Christopher Jones – Christopher hails from London, Canada and has played the violin since he was 4. He studied with Jonathan Crow at McGill University, graduating with an Hon. B.Mus. (2009) and with Pavel Fischer and Leland Chen in Manchester at the RNCM, achieving his M.Mus. with Distinction at the RNCM. During his studies, he has also enjoyed tutelage from James Ehnes, Malcolm Layfield, Martin Beaver, Gabor Takacs, Gérard Poulet, and Levon Chilingirian.
Highlights of his recent performances include collaborating with the Allegri and Edinburgh quartets to perform the Mendelssohn Octet and leading RNCM productions of Britten’s Albert Herring and Sondheim’s Into the Woods, in which he also played the Wolf. He was featured in the RNCM Goehr Festival, leading a wind quartet in Goehr’s “… Around Stravinsky” in Wigmore Hall and for broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Christopher leads the Gildas String Quartet, which are the 2011 recipients of the Tunnell Trust Concerts Scheme and the RNCM Barbirolli String Quartet Prize. The quartet’s recent recitals include performances at the Palazzo Ricci in Tuscany, Detmold’s Hochschule für Musik, Blair Atholl, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Manchester.
Entrance to the concert is free to anyone who has paid entry to the Cathedral.
