Lincoln Cathedral Consort invite you to come and sing with them.

This event will be led by Director of Music Aric Prentice and the music will be Fauré Requiem. There will be registration and workshops ending with a public performance at 3.15pm.

Lincoln Cathedral Consort is the mixed-voice chamber choir of Lincoln Cathedral, and it sings for services and concerts at the Cathedral and around the Diocese. Its director is Hilary Punnett, Assistant Organist at the Cathedral. The Consort enjoy singing Evensongs and Eucharists at Lincoln Cathedral throughout the liturgical year, as well as at high-profile events such as the Lincolnshire Police Carol Service, and the Lincolnshire County Council Service. The choir frequently visit parishes throughout the diocese and beyond, and have been out of the diocese most recently in 2014 for a visit to sing Evensong at Selwyn College, Cambridge. They have toured out of England, and have also been involved in larger concerts and events such as the recent Eastern Three Choirs Festival, 2015.

The Consort peforms a wide range of music, from Josquin and Palestrina to a specially commissioned new work, Untamed Elegies, written for Consort in 2013 by Thomas Hewitt-Jones. They also have a variety of secular music in their repertoire which they enjoy performing in concerts. Consort is made up of talented and enthusiastic auditioned members, from school students to music teachers, to retirees!
