Lincoln Cathedral is home to 140 unique stained glass windows including rare 13th century medieval glass to modern day work.

Adopting a section of stained glass at Lincoln Cathedral makes for a perfect gift or memorial and supports the Cathedral’s in house Glazing Department with the ongoing conservation and restoration of Cathedral glass. Glass adoptions are available from just £25 and there are a variety of adoption opportunities for you to choose from:

When you adopt a section of glass, you will receive an Adoption Pack containing a plan of the window locating your panel, an adoption certificate and a dedication certificate in either your or the recipient's name. These will be sent out on the next working day following your adoption.

If you adopt a section of glass that is £150 or more, you will also be offered a complimentary Fellow membership of Lincoln Cathedral for a year - usually worth £120. To find out more about the benefits of this membership, please click here.

Gift Aid

The Government allows charities to claim back tax on donations. This tax relief is called Gift Aid.

Gift Aid means charities get extra money added to their donations at no extra cost to the donor. For every £1 donated, the charity currently receives £1.25 when you add Gift Aid.

Please notify us if you:

  • Want to cancel this declaration
  • Change your name or home address
  • No longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.

If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.
