We are currently being independently reviewed and audited under two national programmes.  The ‘Past Cases Review 2’ (PCR2), has been carried out in all parishes and is coming to a close at the Cathedral.  This review involves scrutiny of clergy and church officers’ files, to identify persons presenting on-going risks to children, adults at risk of harm and domestic abuse.  It also seeks to identify those cases which have not been reported or acted upon appropriately.

The second is The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) who are a values-driven, independent and people-focused improvement agency, who have been commissioned by the Church of England to provide an independent audit of diocesan and Cathedral safeguarding arrangements.  We are currently preparing for our audit and SCIE will be onsite at the Cathedral on the 5th, 6th and 7th October.  SCIE are keen to hear from a wide range of people who are connected to the cathedral and its activities.  Below is a link to contribute to the survey anonymously.  Everything you report through the survey is confidential and the information provided will be collated, analysed, and will feature in the final published report.

We would like to encourage you to be part of our audit, which will help inform our action plan, to ensure the Cathedral is a safe place for all.

If you would like to know more about the reviews, please contact Lincoln Cathedral’s safeguarding officer, Claire Hunter, at
