From time to time it is necessary for us to restrict access to certain areas of the Cathedral; this can be due to a number of reasons including services, event or maintenance.

Details of any current restrictions can be found below.

Thursday 12 May and Friday 13 May

The nave will be closed due to preparations for our performances of the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Visitors can still enjoy the East End of the Cathedral, Cloister, Chapter House and visitor Centre.

Entry is via the Visitor Centre which can be accessed from the Dean’s Green on Minster Yard.

Thursday 12 May – Sunday 5 June

The stage and seating for The Hunchback of Notre Dame will be in place in the nave. While the nave will remain open, please be aware that the view will be obstructed. If you would like to come and enjoy the show tickets are still available and more information and booking details can be found here

Monday 6 June

The nave will be closed.

Visitors can still enjoy the East End of the Cathedral, Cloister, Chapter House and visitor Centre.

Thursday, 9, Friday 10, Wednesday 15, Monday 20 and Tuesday 28 June

Church Schools Festival will be taking place on these dates. The Cathedral remains open to all, but please be aware that it will be much busier then usual as pupils from across the country take part in this event.
