The Archbishops of Canterbury and York have issued advice that public worship is suspended until further notice, and that all churches and Cathedrals are closed to help prevent the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).

This means that until further notice there will be no public services at Lincoln Cathedral, and the Cathedral is now fully closed.

Lincoln Cathedral will continue to be a praying heart at the centre of the city. Morning and evening prayers will continue to be said daily by clergy on behalf of everyone, and a daily Eucharist will be offered up to pray for the world.

Our team will continue to assess and respond to government and Church of England advice, and we will keep our website and social media channels updated with any changes.

Our priority is to remember the vulnerable and the isolated at this time and we continue to seek new ways of offering ministry and demonstrating the love of God.

Church is changing, it’s not stopping it is changing. We have provided some home worship resources and will continue to keep in touch by social media and our regular Chapter Letter.

We invite you to share the following prayer with us.

Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy
in this time of uncertainty and distress.
Sustain and support the anxious and fearful,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may rejoice in your comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen.

Please be assured of our prayers.
Every blessing
Dean Christine.
