Reflective worship in a sacred space
A new monthly opportunity to experience different shapes and styles of worship on a Sunday evening at Lincoln Cathedral.
Each of these occasions seeks to provide a gentle and reflective space with time to wonder, and the chance to experience the unique and serene atmosphere of the Cathedral as the day draws to a close.
Each evening begins with simple refreshments from 6.45pm, with worship beginning at 7pm.
The services for the coming months are:
Sunday 10 September – Sacred Space – exploring new beginnings
Sunday 15 October – Meditative Eucharist, with prayers for healing
Sunday 19 November – Sacred Space – exploring The darkness of waiting
Sacred Space
Every other month, our After Hours service is Sacred Space, a gentle and reflective service with time to wonder, the opportunity to use all your senses to explore faith and the chance to experience the unique and serene atmosphere of the Cathedral as the day draws to a close. It is led by the Revd Canon David Dadswell.
As you move around the Cathedral, there will be a number of different stations to aid prayer and reflection. These may include:
- The labyrinth
- Bible study
- Prayers at St Hugh’s Shrine
- The opportunity to light candles
