On Sunday 8 November, Lincoln Cathedral will live stream a service of Remembrance.
Ordinarily one of the busiest services of the year, Lincoln Cathedral is usually full to capacity for the annual service of Remembrance. Ahead of the second national lockdown, plans had been put in place for a socially distanced version of the service, with the limited number of places to be allocated by a draw, however the new restrictions mean that members of the public can no longer attend.
However, the service will take place as planned and will be streamed live on our Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/Lincoln.Cathedral. It will begin at 10.45am on Sunday 8 November.
The service will feature the Cathedral Choir and organist, and the music for the service includes O God, our help in ages past and Elgar’s Nimrod. The Rt Revd Dr David Court, Acting Bishop of Lincoln will deliver the sermon and will lay a wreath.
The service will also feature poppies falling from the roof of the Cathedral, which has become a poignant part of the service over the last few years.
