Commercial Director

As Commercial Director for Lincoln Cathedral you will be an ambitious and innovative leader with senior leadership and management experience which enables you to bring your honed skills and commercial acumen to an environment that balances worship and sanctuary with tourism, events and retail.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be at the core of our strategic and operational planning, most especially focussing on income generation and innovation.  Proven communications skills are critical and you will have a demonstrated ability in building solid functional relationships with key stake holders, especially in the greater community of Lincoln Cathedral.

This is a role for an individual who is driven, ambitious and energetic who will thrive on the growth, development and delivery of existing enterprise activities and the introduction of new activities for income generation.  You will have an engaging leadership style with strong management skills.  You will be adept at building strong high performing cross-functional teams through collaboration, mutual respect and consensus.  You will be able to adapt to situations, embrace challenge and come with enhanced skills in the art of negotiation.  You will have the ability to seek opportunity where others see challenge, work flexibly and value a ‘can-do’ approach.

Chapter Members

At a significant and exciting time in the life of Lincoln Cathedral, the Cathedral Chapter is looking to appoint new non-executive members with a range of experience and expertise. Those appointed will play a key role in enabling the Cathedral to fulfil its strategic priorities in the next period of its history

Chapter is the governing body of a cathedral, and its members are trustees for the purposes of charity law. Its role is to direct and oversee the administration of the affairs of the Cathedral. Chapter consists of up to 12 people including the Dean and residentiary canons.

As a member of Chapter you are not only the trustee of a charity, but also share in Chapter’s role supporting the Dean in overseeing the life of a church. You’ll share your unique gifts, skills, and enthusiasm with an organisation with almost 1,000 years of history, to help ensure that it continues to flourish in the future.

Music Department Scholarships

Choral Scholars (residentiary) – 5 vacancies

Organ Scholar vacancies – 2 vacancies

We’re looking for five committed and talented Choral Scholars and two talented Organists to contribute to the work of the Music Department for the 2025-2026 academic year.  Lincoln is a great place to live and work, and our Scholarship Program has been outstandingly successful over many years.

Suitable for post A-level students wishing to take a gap year between school and university or to recent graduates wishing to broaden their experience with a view to their future professional life.

Minibus Driver

Lincoln Cathedral is proud to have a choir of 40 children from ten different schools around the locality.
We are now looking for a mini-bus driver to join our team at the Song School. You will be transporting junior members of the Cathedral Choir to and from the Cathedral and their school during the working week, and occasionally driving the choir to concerts in the county.
