Pay to Play sessions
on the Father Willis Organ
Purchasing a voucher to play Lincoln’s Father Willis Organ is an ideal gift for anyone with a passion for playing the organ, and is something that will be a lifelong memory.
DonateSet in the very heart of the building, Lincoln’s Father Willis Organ is one of the finest in Europe. It was the last Cathedral instrument completed during the lifetime of ‘Father’ Henry Willis (in 1898). Since that time, it has undergone only minor adjustments, including one new console in the 1960’s and a complete overhaul and clean in 1998. Thus what remains is still true to the builder’s original tonal scheme.
The sessions are generally available during school term time on Monday evenings at 6.30pm following evensong.
We aren’t able to offer the sessions during the day while the Cathedral is open to visitors, or while worship is taking place.
