On Sunday 1 October, Dr Tracy Buckby will be installed as Chapter Clerk at Lincoln Cathedral.
The ceremony will take place during Evensong at 3.45pm in St Hugh’s Choir in the Cathedral, and all are welcome to attend.
Tracy took up the role of Chapter Clerk and Chief Operating Officer at the Cathedral at the beginning of March 2023, having spent the previous 16 years working for the Ministry of Defence, working on several projects and programmes for the MOD.
The Revd Canon Dr Simon Jones, Interim Dean of Lincoln, said, “It has been a great pleasure to work with Tracy for the last six months. She has brought to her role a wealth of skills and experience. The positive impact she had had on the life and operation of the Cathedral is already clearly visible, driving forward our strategic plans and ensuring that the Cathedral is a welcoming and inclusive place where everyone can flourish. Tracy has become a valued member of the Cathedral community, and I’m very much looking forward to her formally joining the Cathedral Foundation on Sunday.”
Tracy brings to Lincoln Cathedral extensive experience from her previous roles including strategic thinking, risk management, governance, and policy development. As a coach she has a passion for developing and coaching teams and individuals to be the best that they can, and believes in effective communication, working collaboratively and empowering individuals to deliver to their full potential.
Tracy said that the Cathedral has already won a place in her heart, “I am really enjoying working in such a unique organisation, in a stunning location, and with such passionate people. It has been a privilege to join the team here, and to play a small part in the long and rich history of this sacred space. As the current custodians of this fantastic building, we have a duty to create a vibrant, diverse, and sustainable organisation to pass on to future generations. I’m excited to continue that journey with my colleagues and the whole Cathedral community.”
