Lincoln Cathedral presents a special screening of The Snowman in the Nave, supported by a live orchestra and Chorister from the Cathedral Choir.
The Snowman has become an integral part of many families’ Christmas since the picture book was first published in 1978. In keeping with the book, the film of The Snowman is wordless and free of dialogue, except for the now iconic, “Walking in the Air” which will be performed by a chorister from Lincoln Cathedral Choir at each performance.
The heart-warming story will be accompanied by a live orchestra who will bring the score to life and make the most of the incredible acoustics of the Cathedral. The nave will be lit to create a magical atmosphere ensuring an unforgettable experience for adults and children alike.

The performances will take place on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 December. The schedule for the screenings are:
Saturday 14 December – 11am, 1.30pm, 3pm, 7pm, 8.30pm
Sunday 15 December – 6pm, 7.30pm
Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Monday 2 September.
Please read the guidance notes below before purchasing your tickets:
- Children under 12 months old: All children 12 months and above will require a seat to attend any of the performances.
- Prams and Pushchairs: All prams and pushchairs must be left in the designated areas which are located separately to the seating area.
- Photography: Please be aware a Cathedral photographer may be taking photos during the performance. If you do not wish to have your photograph taken please make yourself known to the photographer or Cathedral staff.
- Ticket limits: a maximum of 10 tickets may be purchased in one transaction.
- Children attending the performance: all children 14 years and under must be accompanied by an adult
