Program Highlights:
Mendelssohn’s Octet in E-flat Major, Op. 20
The first half features a rare collaboration between the UK’s acclaimed Piatti Quartet and the US-based Opus 76 Quartet. Together, these two ensembles will perform Mendelssohn’s youthful and exuberant Octet, a masterpiece that showcases intricate interplay and vibrant energy.
Haydn’s Symphony No. 104 in D Major (“London”)
In the second half, the Youth Symphony of Kansas City, comprising over 400 talented musicians in grades 5–12 from the Greater Kansas City area , will present Haydn’s final symphony. Known for its grandeur and elegance, the “London” Symphony is a fitting tribute to the city’s rich musical heritage.
