Lincoln Cathedral is a finalist in the Experience of the Year category at the 2023 Destination Lincolnshire Tourism Excellence Awards.
The awards showcase the work of organisations across Lincolnshire that have demonstrated outstanding innovation, commitment, and leadership in the tourism industry over the past year.
Lincoln Cathedral continues to welcome tens of thousands of visitors annually for services, events and to enjoy the inspiring history and heritage of this unique building. The addition of the new visitor centre which opened in 2021 has created additional visitor facilities including new exhibition and learning spaces, a changing places toilet, a new shop and café and beautifully landscaped green spaces.
Speaking about the nomination, Samantha Mellows, Director of Visitor Experience and Enterprise at the Cathedral said, “We’re absolutely delighted to be nominated as Experience of the Year. Ensuring a warm welcome is at the heart of the Cathedral’s mission and our whole team is dedicated to ensuring everyone that visits Lincoln Cathedral for any reason has the best experience possible.”

The winner of the Destination Lincolnshire Tourism Excellence Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony at The Engine Shed in Lincoln, on 12 October 2023.
