The Dean of Lincoln has been visiting Fiji this week, acting as commissary for the bishop of Lincoln.
During the visit, Dean Christine read a message from Archbishop Justin celebrating their great unity in diversity, on the occasion of the ordination and installation of Fereimi Cama as bishop of Polynesia and archbishop of Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia.
The gift of a pectoral cross was presented to Archbishop Fereimi from the Diocese of Lincoln on behalf of Bishop Christopher.
The wonderful ordination service gathered together a diverse group from Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, New Zealand , Australia, USA and England. Hymns were sung and prayers said in many languages and the children of St Christopher’s home gave voice to some beautiful choruses during the administration of communion.
At the feast after the service gifts and messages were exchanged and greetings sent to the diocese of Lincoln.
We look forward to welcoming representatives from the region to our climate change conference here in Lincoln at the end of August.
