Lincolnshire was definitely ‘feeling the love’ for Jesus Christ Superstar on Valentine’s Day. Tickets for all eight nights of the show completely sold out within 6 hours of being released – with premium tickets selling out within just half an hour.
Alexandra Schimmel, the Events Manager, said, “We were really excited about releasing the tickets and had a good feeling about sales, but we never expected such an overwhelming response. I’m only sorry that not everyone managed to get the tickets they wanted.”
The members of the Superstar Team are just as excited. Ben Poole, Producer and Director, said; ‘As a performer and director, Jesus Christ Superstar is a wonderful opportunity to explore the different characters, and the Cathedral is the perfect venue to push the boundaries of this amazing musical theatre; but to have such incredible support from the people of Lincolnshire is really quite humbling. I was genuinely shocked and delighted when I heard how quickly tickets sold out. ‘
The show will run from 22nd to 30th August this year, and already has sponsorship support from both businesses and private individuals. Alexandra said, ‘The Cathedral is such an important part of the heritage and culture of Lincolnshire, and it’s great to see so many sponsors stepping forward to enable us to bring fantastic events such as Jesus Christ Superstar to the community.
