Tickets are now available for Lincoln Cathedral’s Outdoor Carol service on Sunday 20 December.

Since the service was initially announced last week, there has been an unprecedented amount of interest, and to ensure the safety of all those attending, the Cathedral has decided to make it a ticketed event.

Tickets are free, and available from our forthcoming events page – www.lincolncathedral.com/forthcoming-events. Those without tickets are asked not to travel to the Cathedral as there will not be any additional tickets available on the day.

The festive, family friendly service will take place in the atmospheric surroundings of the newly opened Dean’s Green, set against the magical backdrop of the Cathedral illuminated against the winter sky.

Lincoln Cathedral Choir will lead popular carols for the whole family to enjoy, and the specially selected readings will add to the festive atmosphere; the service is the perfect start for your Christmas celebrations.

Children coming to the service are invited to dress up as characters from the Christmas story – sheep, kings, angels, shepherds, Mary and Joseph – and will be encouraged to interact as the story unfolds.

A collection taken at the service will be shared between the Cathedral and the nomad Centre (part of YMCA Lincolnshire) which provides emergency access accommodation and helps those with the greatest need move forward with their lives by working with them to gain access to appropriate health care and other support services, and crucially, suitable accommodation.
