You and your whole family can be sure of a warm welcome and a great day out at Lincoln Cathedral!
To make sure every member of the family has fun, you’ll find exciting activities and information around every corner as you explore the Cathedral. At the welcome desk you can pick up a themed backpack, full of entertaining items to enjoy as you look around our historical building. For younger children, there is an activity trolley with books, dressing-up, puppets, and much more.
The Discovery Centre is an unmissable experience that is fun for all ages. Get hands-on in the Discovery Centre while trying your hand at being a stone mason and building a giant arch. Parents, grandparents and toddlers can all enjoy our cosy play corner, and who doesn’t love dressing-up?
Every school holiday we host much-loved themed family arts and crafts in the Learning Centre, all of which are free with admission. And don’t forget, children aged 16 and under visit free with a paying adult.

Get into the spirit of Christmas and take part in our Christmas Tree competition!
Download and print, or collect one of our templates from the Cathedral and decorate your own Christmas Tree. Finished entries will be put on display in the Cathedral and Visitor Centre.
There will be a £10 gift voucher for first prize in two categories: 4 years and under and
5 – 16 years
To enter your design, write your first name, age and contact details on the back of the image and hand in your sheet to the Welcome Desk by 12noon on Friday 6 December.

Festive Family Day
Saturday 7 December, 10am – 3.30pm
Join us this December to enjoy a variety of festive crafts and activities.
Stop by the Table for the Nation to create your very own Christingle, or visit the Christmas Gazebo to make a beautiful advent wreath, craft an angel decoration or listen to a nativity story in the cosy stable corner. Also, why not explore the Christmas Trail? If you finish the trail, you could be in with a chance to win an amazing price!
All crafts are free with admission. Don’t forget, children aged 16 and under can visit the Cathedral for FREE with a paying adult.
