Description

Lincoln Cathedral’s breathtaking stained glass is one reason many believe this to be the finest Gothic cathedral in the British Isles.  Much of its medieval glass has been lost, but what remains is the most important collection of English early thirteenth-century glass after Canterbury Cathedral.  The nineteenth-century windows demonstrate crucial developments in the history of stained glass.

This beautiful stained glass paperweight is a replica of St. Hugh’s Swan, taken from the the north choir aisle window of Lincoln Cathedral.  The window depicts scenes from the life of St. Hugh and was completed in 1902; it was dedicated to mark the 700th anniversary of his death in 1200.

Each stained glass paperweight is made in the borders of Scotland and Cumbria and comes presented in an ivory and gold gift box.

Measures approx. 7cm in diameter and 2cm deep.
