What is the Royal Air Force Music Charitable Trust?
The Royal Air Force Music Charitable Trust was registered as a charity in 2004 by its founder Malcolm Goodman MBE. The charity is run on a voluntary basis with two other trustees, Trevor McDonald and John Baigent. The trustees are all former RAF musicians and veterans of the Gulf War, having served together on active service at field hospitals in Saudi Arabia during the 1991 conflict.
Following the appointment of Air Chief Marshal Sir Michael Graydon GCB CBE as its President, the charity is now the primary organiser of RAF charity concerts around the country, raising welfare funds from which donations are made to other Service charities, whilst also providing support to RAF musicians when deployed on ‘out of area’ operations.
